We are an association of body donors, a registered society in Germany.
Our registered aim is
§ 2 (1) The objective of the
association is the improvement of the scientific-medical education, especially
in the field of anatomy, and the promotion of information of laymen about human
anatomy by means of plastinated bodies or body parts.
Plastination is the process to prevent putrefaction in biological preparations,
where the body fluid is replaced by synthetic material.
(2) In order to achieve its
objectives the association participates in events with information booths, gives
or organizes lectures in schools or medical institutions, brings out
publications and makes available persons who respond to inquiries.
In order to have enough bodies available for anatomical education purposes
the association promotes the idea of body donation. The meaning of body
donation is the entrustment of the whole human body after the death of the donor
to science, for anatomical education and medical information.
Most of our members are body donors, except some who only wish to promote the idea of plastination. Also not all body donors are members of the association; the membership is voluntary and costs € 12.00 a year.
